Summer Reading Programs At Central Iowa Libraries

Reading is an activity students can participate in all year long! Library reading programs can help participants create goals and build communities. Check out your local library for their summer reading opportunities.

Des Moines Public Library’s summer reading program “All Summer Long” will go until August 7th. Participants age 18 and under can sign up for the program. Participants can receive a reading log in person or print one at home. Sign up for the program at any DMPL location or on the DMPL website.

West Des Moines Public Library’s
summer reading program
“Summer Escape” will go until August 24th. The program will be providing resources for Furry Friends Refuge. The library will donate one pound of pet food for every completed reading log. Sign up online or through the mobile app Beanstack.

Ankeny Kirkendall Public Library’s summer reading program “Reading Colors Your World” will go until July 31th. Sign up online or through the Beanstack app.

Indianola Public Library’s summer reading program will go until July 31st. Sign up at the library or view events and activities online.

Clive Public Library’s summer reading program “Reading Colors Your Word” will go until August 7. Participants age 18 and under can sign up for the program. Reading logs can be picked up at the library. Questions can be sent to: staff@cityofclive.com

Pella Public Library’s
summer reading program “Reading Colors Your World” is for participants age 18 and under. Sign up through the Beanstack app. There is a tutorial on the library’s website.

Norwalk Public Library’s summer reading program will go until August 31. Participants of all ages can sign up through the Beanstack app. Visit the website for information about activities and events.
